Madonna, dressed as Cub Scout, kisses Anderson Cooper at GLAAD Awards

Anderson Cooper Madonna

Madonna presented Anderson Cooper with an award at the GLAAD Media Awards Saturday, and she dressed up as a Cub Scout to do the honors. Then she planted a big smooch on Coop. Wearing what appeared to be a pretty straightforward Cub Scout outfit (obviously something of a tweak at the less-than-progressive organization’s politics), Madge gave an impassioned speech about anti-gay bullying: “Love thy neighbor as thyself,” she said. Cooper was presented with Vito Russo Award (named for the activist and film historian who was one of the founders of GLAAD) in recognition of his “stature and accomplishment as an openly gay journalist.” They make a cute couple.

Elephant calf rolls around on white sand beach, makes us jealous

Elephant calf

Looks like we’re not the only ones excited for beach season. This super-stoked elephant calf, appropriately named Lucky, was spotted doing his very own kind of happy dance — OK, more like a happy roll-around-in-the-sand thing — on a beach in Phuket, Thailand. Or maybe he’s doing a self-massage; we’ve heard sand is very exfoliating, and elephant skin is notoriously tough, right? Whatever he’s doing in these photos, it’s clearly tons of fun, and the cute beast managed to escape being cited for forgetting his, ahem, swim trunk(s). Lucky, indeed!

The Ryno Electric Unicycle

Unicycle

If you love turning heads when you take a ride around town, then the Ryno electric unicycle is probably for you.

Designer Chris Hoffmann had his eyes set on the Segway crowd when he started work on the Ryno, and he has come up with quite the interesting looking one-wheeled auto.

The cost for a pre-production Ryno is a whopping $25,000 and Hoffmann already has five orders, but he expects the market model to cost about $3,500. The production model will have a top speed of 25 mph, a range of up to 30 miles and an impressive 25-inch thick tire.

World’s most adorable polar bear cub is a real-life Bambi

polar-bear-cub

Take “Bambi,” add polar bears, and you pretty much have the story of Kali. Here’s the sad part of the story: James Tazruk, a native Alaskan Inupiat subsistence hunter, recently shot and killed a polar bear, as he’s allowed to do by federal law — but when he inspected the animal closely, he realized she had been nursing. Tazruk followed the bear’s tracks for 1,200 feet, until he found her den and inside it, her cub — whom he scooped up and transported by snowmobile to his home village, 40 miles away. Tazruk contacted the Alaska Zoo, which welcomed the cub, now named Kali, with a seal blubber dinner. This spring, Kali will move to the Buffalo Zoo, where he’ll be raised alongside Luna, another polar bear cub.

Chocolate Train

IF you like chocolate ——

A train made entirely of chocolate has set a new Guinness World Record
as the longest chocolate structure in the world.

The sculpture, on display at the busy Brussels South station,
is 112-feet (34.05 meters) long and weighs
over 2,755 pounds (1250 kilos)

Maltese chocolate artist Andrew Farrugia spentover 700 hours constructing the masterpiece.

He said he came up with the idea of the train last year after
visiting the Belgian Chocolate Festival in Bruge:

“I had this idea for a while, and I said what do you think if we do this realisation of a long chocolate train, you know, because a train you can make it as long as you like.

“Actually it was going to be much smaller than it was, but I kept on adding another wagon, and another wagon, and it’s the size it is today.”

Farrugia had previously built a smaller train of 12 feet for an event in Malta, which he said gave him insight about how to build this much larger version.

There are two parts to the train. The first seven wagons are modelled after the new Belgian trains, and the rest of the train is modelled after the old train wagons, including a wagon with a bar
and restaurant on board.

Three days before the event, Farrugia transported the chocolate train by truck in 25 wooden boxes from Malta to Belgium.

Farrugia said the train incurred considerable damage during the drive and several of the train’s walls had completely collapsed. Luckily, with hard work and little sleep, the chocolate artist was able to fix all the damages before presenting the train to the public on Monday.

After measuring the length of the train and confirming no material other than chocolate was used, officials from the Guinness Book of World Records added a new category to the collection of world records and declared the train to be;

The longest chocolate structure in the world.

God as caddy

Golfer apparently using God as caddy gets 3 holes-in-one

GodAsCaddy

To quote Bill Murray (aka Carl Spackler of “Caddyshack”), “What an incredible Cinderella story, this unknown comes outta nowhere to lead the pack …” Bob Robertson, a 77-year-old golfer, blind in one eye, a stroke victim with five bypass heart surgeries on his scorecard, is that Cinderella. After asking God for a hole-in-one to win prize money for charity, the Smyrna, Tenn., player got one. Then he got another. And yet another for a total of three on the same hole in the same month. “I told God if he let me that win that money, that I’d donate that money to mission work and he let me win it,” said Robertson, who has an answer for anyone asking how he did the virtually impossible. “I tell them that I didn’t do it alone. Faith did it.”

Total stranger leaves waitress $1,000 tip for dream trip to Italy

1000

Is there some kind of good-will epidemic going around? Days after a Steak & Shake waitress received a 7,000 percent tip on a $6 check, Tumblr user Casual Cynic posted her mom’s story. She and her mother wait tables at the same restaurant, and the older woman had a throwaway conversation with a customer about how she’d love to have the opportunity to travel to Italy sometime. We hope she knows how to say “HOLY CRAP!” in Italian, because when she picked up the receipt, she saw that he’d tipped her $1,000, writing “Your ticket to Italy” beside the amount. “Just when I start to lose faith in humanity,” Casual Cynic wrote. Everyone’s faith was just topped up after that.

Oklahoma Tornado, May 2013

This is the bank vault that saved 24 people during Oklahoma tornado

Oklahoma Tornado

It’s a testament to … something. Awesome vault construction? The human will to survive? Either way, the fact that 24 people took shelter in this vault at the Tinker Federal Credit Union branch during the Oklahoma tornado, and the fact that it’s still standing amid the rubble of the utterly destroyed building are both very impressive. The bank manager’s dedication is admirable as well, remaining with the safe even after being rescued until it could be locked up and secured again. Two dozen people have been confirmed killed in the EF5 tornado (the highest grade), and its 17-mile path resulted in at least $1 billion in damage.

Twitter pic of dog protecting body of tornado victim goes viral

Dog Tornado

This image tells one of the most heart-wrenching stories to emerge from the wreckage of the massive Moore, Okla., tornado. This little dog was reportedly found guarding the body of its owner, who was buried in the rubble. The loyal pup was taken to the local animal shelter and will get a second chance at happiness — a deputy from the Oklahoma Sheriff’s department plans to adopt him. We’re glad the critter is all right. It’s a piece of good news amid the devastation.

Extreme Piercing

Every year during the ninth lunar month of the Chinese calendar (September / October), Thais celebrate the Vegetarian Festival. It is believed that the festival and its accompanying sacred rituals bestow good fortune upon those who religiously observe this rite.

During this time, local residents of Chinese ancestry strictly observe a 10-day vegetarian or vegan diet for the purposes of spiritual cleansing and merit-making. Sacred rituals are performed at various Chinese shrines and temples and aesthetic displays, such as walking barefooted over hot coals and ascending ladders with bladed rungs are performed by entranced devotees known as “Ma Song”.

The festival started in 1825 and its paricipants are not allowed to eat meat or have sex at the time of the festival. For obvious reasons participants are asked to use only sterile blades, spears and guns.

White Lioness Cubs

Japan‘s 7 white lioness cubs are very auspicious, also cute as heck

There has been something of a baby boom at Himeji Central Park in Japan. Three South African lions gave birth to seven white lioness cubs in one month (their respective birthdays are June 6, 26 and 30, if you want to send them all cards). The public will be able to see the seven rare white lion cubs from this weekend. Check out more photos of these gorgeous little ladies in the gallery above to well and truly satisfy your daily baby animal cuteness requirements.

Kerabu Boneless Chicken Feet

The ghastly process by which the boneless chicken feet dish had to go through before it got served on a plate in restaurant.

Once chicken feet are parboiled, laborers were employed to literally teeth out all the bones, before the dish enters its final part of garnishing, then it’s served to customers.

Kerabu Chicken Feet looks delicious!!!

The shop outlook does not look like it is in China, because normally the shop in China wouldn’t use that kind of gate, normally this kind of gate is found in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Brunei or certain area in Indonesia.

Another point is pls look carefully at the electrical supply meter : that is our Malaysia Sesco, Tenaga National, Southern Thailand or S’bah power supply meter, that is not China power supply company’s meter, so I strongly suspect this is in Thailand or Malaysia.

Remember if you like Kerabu Boneless Chicken Feet, then be prepared to fall sick with Hepatitis.

Incredible photos from the world’s most dangerous petting zoo

Lion-200x200

Most dangerous petting zoo

Want to cuddle a lion or kiss a bear? First of all, you’re crazy. But if your heart is set on it, the Lujan Zoo near Buenos Aires will let you interact with animals inside their cages. Some activists claim the animals — many of which were rescued after being rejected as pets — are calm because they’re drugged. However, zoo keepers insist that’s not the case; the animals are just full. “We feed all the animals, especially the predators, so they won’t feel hungry when a human is inside their cage,” said general manager Claudio Nieva. (Good idea, Claudio.) Click through the images above and decide if the animals look so full they just can’t eat another bite

You’ll want a miniature donkey after looking at these adorable photos

Somebody call a cardiologist, because our hearts have completely melted. In the Australian town of Yea, a 30-inch-tall miniature donkey named Cuddle Pie (her name is Cuddle Pie!) has befriended 15-month-old Jack Johnston, who lives next door to their breeder. It gets better. Little Jack is also friends with a miniature donkey called Snuggle Pot, and the gang is rounded out by a Chihuahua named Poppi and her best donkey bud Allegra.

Cuddle Pie and the rest of the tiny donkeys are in high demand in Australia, thanks to their growing reputation as lovable and loyal pets. Breeder Deb Hanton compares them to “little Labradors,” which makes us want one even more. But before we all run off to buy one, here’s a reality check: A miniature donkey costs between $2,200 and $7,000. Maybe we’ll just click through these photos again instead.
